Blood Pressure Blood Pressure

Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries. There are two components to blood pressure - the systolic and the diastolic blood pressure. The systolic represents the amount of pressure in the arteries when the heart is pumping the blood out, and the diastolic represents the amount of pressure in the arteries when the heart is at rest between beats. The ideal is 120/80. That means that the systolic blood pressure is 120 and the diastolic is 80. If one has a systolic blood pressure of 140 or higher and/or a diastolic pressure of 90 or higher, they have high blood pressure, also known as hypertension.

33% of the adult population in the United States has high blood pressure. People with high blood pressure may have no symptoms, but many individuals may experience headaches, dizziness, or redness in the face. You can have it for years without knowing it. Over time, it can damage the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, and other parts of your body.

High blood pressure can possibly lead to stroke or heart attack. It's important to monitor your blood pressure periodically. If you have a history of high blood pressure, you should check it at least a few times each week. If it's severe, you should monitor it on a daily basis.

We've had great success with lowering our clients' BP by using a special cranial adjustment. The alignment of the cranial bones has a significant effect on the overall body. It's fairly common for our clients' BP to drop 40 to 50 points on their systolic and 10 to 20 points on their diastolic with just one cranial treatment. We also recommend our God-Breathing CD to help people relax and to breath properly. Our nutritional protocol also has a significant impact on BP.

Our approach is to find and correct the root cause of the high BP. Hypertension is a symptom, it is not a disease. We don't want to just treat symptoms because the problem will never be corrected. There are severe cases where people may need medication for a short period of time to prevent a potential stroke. But once their blood pressure is back to a normal range and stabilized, we work with the medical doctors to wean the client off the medication because the medications themselves cause other health problems.
